A number of neighbours have expressed concern that, with the digging up of the street for the new street lights, there is a danger that the York flagstones which make up the pavement might be removed in places and not reinstated. 

We have written to the contractor (David Webster Ltd) undertaking the current installation work informing them of our concern that any flagstones removed from Denny Street or Denny Crescent might not be replaced.  They replied “We are obliged under NRSWA [the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991] to reinstate with a like-for-like surface material so I can reassure you that this will be the case”. 

Let’s all keep an eye out to make sure that they keep to their word.
